What customers say?

“ I recently visited Greenhouse in DC and had such a wonderful experience. The baked eggs with spinach, feta, and sourdough were absolutely my favorite—so flavorful and comforting. My boyfriend ordered the omelet and enjoyed it just as much. What made the visit even better is that the restaurant is dog-friendly, and my pups were welcomed warmly. They behaved like proper little guests, and it was so nice to be able to enjoy a great meal without leaving them at home. Overall, delicious food, a lovely atmosphere, and a very pet-friendly spot—I can’t wait to come back! ”

“ The restaurant was absolutely charming! I visited with my sister for brunch, and it truly exceeded our expectations. The food was delicious, and the ambiance was picture-perfect, offering beautiful photo opportunities in every corner. The only downside was the parking, which wasn’t easy to find. ”

“ This would have been a two-star review except the restaurant made it right. I had a complaint about the quality of service and decided to leave before our food arrived. They comped our food and sent it to our room with an apology. They went above and beyond to make sure we were happy so I believe this is worth a five-star review. Thank you to the Jefferson staff for making us feel welcomed and happy. ”

“ The Greenhouse is a great spot if you’re looking for fresh, flavorful food in a relaxed setting. The menu focuses on quality ingredients — the salads and bowls were crisp, vibrant, and satisfying, and the proteins were cooked perfectly. Portions were generous without being overwhelming, and the service was friendly and attentive. The atmosphere is casual but inviting, making it an easy place for a quick lunch or a laid-back dinner, and I’d definitely go back. ”

“ Very good Brunch at the Jefferson Hotel! Service was very curated and on point. Good selection of wines and excellent juice. We came looking for the lemon ricotta pancakes and they are gone. Banana pancakes (without horrid chocolate, please) were fantastic. The non meat Croque Monsieur was absolutely delish. Mushrooms and burnt cheese galore. The best I’ve ever had anywhere (including in Paris). The lobster Benedict; so, so. Not bad, not great. My fries were weird. Some were crunchy and others were dry and bland. As if two batches had been mixed. Left the whole serving practically untouched and no question from the server as to why. I did say we were very full though. Still. Ordered two glasses of Far Niente that came already poured (nope!) and the bill stated a different wine name. Confusing. The pancakes and the Croque Monsieur were so delicious…so was the grapefruit juice; so fresh I’ll give them a solid 4 stars. They should be a five at this price point and especially when they are not that busy. Next time. ”

“ What a meal! From the perfectly balanced menu to the attentive service from Paul. Pro: - buratta (must have, amazing moose/base) - oysters - service (extremely attentive and not over bearing) - drink selections - balanced menu options - quiet - romantic Con: - i know they converted the old lobby into this restaurant, it does give off the lobby feel still. But they did a good job - bathroom is outside the restaurant down one floor, down the hallway. Not self explanatory at all. - Price while some dishes justify the price tag some did not. My pictures will not do this place justice. It was fantastic and it was a must return! ”

“ Everything tasted amazing! My favorite was the Eggs Benedict (so much so that I didn’t get a picture before eating!). The ambiance was perfect for lunch, and they had lots of lovely food and drink options. The only reason I gave it 4 stars was because of the tea I ordered. It came in a small teapot with only one tea bag, so it tasted super watery- disappointing for a $7 cup of tea. Of course it poured more than one cup, but not worth the taste sacrifice for the price. Aside from that, wonderful experience. ”
